Mothercare's weaning products

Dolly is now over 5 months old and so I am gearing up to start weaning her. I feel equally as excited as I did when I began to wean Betty because it is such a huge milestone in a baby’s development. But this time I feel a million times more relaxed about it. The first ever post I wrote on this blog was indeed about the first time I made Betty a puree, which turned into a real palaver.

I had neatly packed away all of Betty’s first bowls and spoons once she had moved onto the next stage, and intended to use them for our next baby. However, when I unpacked them the other day they were all looking a little bit stained and battered and so I decided that for my precious Dolly she needed some brand new dining items of her very own.

I was thrilled when I received my little parcel from Mothercare yesterday, containing all sorts of delights, from miniature freezer pots with handy date dials (for all the tiny portions of puree that I am going to lovingly prepare), to an Annabel Karmel food flask that keeps baby food warm whilst out and about, to items from their tasteful Softcare range such as weaning bowls with suction base, and first cups, which either come in pink or blue.

Also included in the order was a baby lunch bag which looks stylish and is perfect for carrying all feeding/drinking items you need for a baby whilst out and about. This certainly beats the plastic supermarket carrier bag I used to use for Betty.

Every time any of us eat in front of Dolly she stares hard at us, with her mouth opening and closing, so I think it is perhaps cruel to delay it any further. The Hipp Organic baby rice has been bought, her crockery and cutlery are at the ready, so here goes…
